Changes to the my sites system

The ‘Category Tree Page’ type is designed to replace the ‘Categories’ and ‘Product Category’ page types. It also makes the ‘Tags’ section of the site no longer needed.

This new Page Type will make setting up your my sites website a lot less confusing. The Idea is that you can use this page to layout a menu structure with a lot more control, which supports infinite nesting.

For Example, say you wanted a menu structure Like this

        Location

  • -> New South Wales
  •         Product One
  •         Product Two
  • -> Queensland
  • -> Product Three
  • -> Product Four

        Activities

  • -> Extreme
  •       Product Two
  •       Product Four
  • -> Relaxing
  •       Product One
  •       Product Three

This is now possible and very easy to set up using ‘Category Tree Pages’
First you Create these Pages as you would any other page, make sure you select ‘Category Tree Page’ as the Page Type.

You can add products on these pages by clicking on the products tab, and searching for products that you have previously added in the ‘Products’ section of the site.

The Idea is that the Category Tree page will either display thumbnails of it’s child pages, or the page will display thumbnail’s of the various product’s added to it, or both (for example the ‘Activities’ page will display thumbnails of the ‘Extreme’ and ‘Relaxing’ pages, and the Relaxing Page will display thumbnails of the Products one and three)
You can have more control over this by selecting the ‘Display Thumbnails’ option. which is set to both by default.

For best Results , upload a Image for each Category tree page. As the parent category tree page looks best when it has a image thumbnail of show off it’s children.
